Origin Karindo Gourd:

Kardindo Gourd or the Momordica charantia is originally sourced in tropical Asia. The plant comes from the family of Cucurbitaceae, like the cucumber and pumpkin and is mainly grown in Asia, Eastern Africa, South America and in the Caribbean. With form varying between smooth and prickly, light and dark, it has a naturally bitter taste and is used throughout the Netherlands in Asia and Surinam cuisine.
